Scents are powerful. They evoke memories, create lasting impressions, and could turn someone on —or off depending on the kind of perfume you’re wearing and how much you’re wearing. The secret to dating and finding the best perfume for men is knowing which fragrances women love.
Let’s be honest, the reason you wear perfume most of the time is to get a good impression — from women. So, what better way to get a great one but to wear the best fragrances for men that they actually love?
We recently conducted a survey among 100 women who are currently in the dating scene and asked them what we all want to know: “What do women think are the best fragrances for men?” Here’s what we found out!
1. Woody and Sexy
When shopping for the best perfume for men, you’d definitely hit a home run with a woody fragrance. More than 65% of women who participated in our survey loved perfumes with woody scents like Yves Saint Laurent L’Homme Ultime. They described woody fragrances as “very masculine,” “sexy,” and “sensual.”
Our recommendations:
2. Fruity and Spicy
Not far behind in the survey are fruity and spicy scents. Ladies love a good mix of fruity, sweet, spicy, and floral fragrances in men’s perfumes. Non-linear colognes and perfumes for men with fruity and spicy fragrances, such as Giorgio Armani Code Colonia and Jimmy Choo Man Intense, also ranked high in the list. Our women participants described men wearing fruity and spicy scents as “classy,” “suave,” and “attractive.”
Our recommendation:
3. Musky and Clean
Ranking third on our list are musky and clean scents. There is something to be learned here. Sometimes, the best fragrances for men are those that are perfectly balanced and refreshing to smell. Some clean and musky scents that women love are Gucci Guilty Eau Pour Homme, and Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Eau De Parfum. They described the scent as “fun,” “laid-back,” and “vibrant.”

PS:
In this post, we focused on the best fragrances for men that women love but we also asked them about perfumes for men that they don’t like or simply don’t take notice of. For many of them, Giorgio Armani’s Acqua Di Gio and Davidoff’s Cool Water are so common, they smell “basic.” So, if you’re on a date and trying to impress, don’t smell “basic.”
There you have it, ‘gents! Woo the ladies with your killer scents. Just a reminder: while you may want to get the best fragrances for men that women love, remember that your scent must also reflect your personality. Stand out in a sea of boys with a signature scent that won’t just make heads turn but also reflect the gentleman that you truly are.
